F-BoM January 2009: A LEGO a Day

LEGO Day 71
The dubious honour of being the first F-BoM on Enticing the Light history goes to:

A LEGO a Day

Run by Dan, this is not your typical 365 blog (a type of blog where you take and post a photo every day for one year). Instead of taking 365 self-portraits or random street shots, Dan decided he would shoot his LEGO minifigs in different situations.

I’ve been following the blog since day 20 or so and was immediately hooked. Dan has a great sense of humour that comes across loud and clear through his ensembles and captions. Every morning I check for an entry and it’s rare when I don’t chuckle or, dare I say it, LOL.

LEGO Day 95Focus! Focus! Ok. Are you sure thatโ€™s your good side?

I’m not going to deny it, I have a soft spot for LEGO. I spent countless hours as a child building and dismantling sets, and when I first saw Dan’s blog the images brought back many fond memories of afternoons sitting in my room constructing spaceships, cars, houses, and whatever my imagination could muster. And you gotta love a blog that appreciates my favourite film:

Today is Day 215 for Dan, so you still have over 1/3 of a year left to enjoy his creations. Add A LEGO a Day to your daily blog feed, and if you have some free time on your hands, start going through the archives. It will be worth it!

  1. Yes, his lego posts have become a legend among pentax shooters. Really a lot of thought into the composition of a story. The positioning of these lego requires directing skill. Very clever stuff

  2. I must say I enjoy his Blog immensly and always have a look whenever I log on and photographically the images are always well focused and planned out not to mention they always bring a smile to my day.

  3. Never mind focusing, I think the white balance is way off. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Nice pick — very humorous. But what the heck is an “F-BoM”?

  4. I’ve been following his work sporadically, and I must admit he is an inspiration. I don’t think I’ll ever have his determination.

To top it all off, the pictures are a real treat to look at. A+ quality blog and surely deserving of the “F-BoM” seal of approval. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Oh cool ! Going to check this site out now !
    Thanks for sharing ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. I’ve noticed this site thanks to yours ever since you put it up on the side. As a former user of lego, I love it and its this close to be going back and buying a set!

  7. I have to think there is a huge overlap between photo hobbyists and childhood lego play. I still can’t help myself to check out lego sets in stores whenever I get the chance.
